Know Where To Go

Immediate Care vs Urgent Care

Both terms describe the same level of walk-in care for non-life-threatening illness and injury. Here’s what makes First Choice Immediate Care different from a typical urgent care.

TYPICAL URGENT CARE

Urgent Care

Walk-in · Similar copay · Varies by clinic

What you typically get:

  • Treats the same minor injuries & illnesses
  • Many clinics lack on-site X-ray (sent elsewhere)
  • Some require appointments after 5pm
  • May refer out for occupational medicine
  • Wait times can stretch 30–60+ minutes
  • Limited rapid testing on-site

The difference: “Immediate care” and “urgent care” describe the same level of care — what matters is what each clinic actually offers under one roof.

First Choice Immediate Care handles the full list above with on-site X-ray and lab at both Naperville and Chicago Archer Ave locations — walk in any weekday during open hours.
